National Honor Society Selections

In March of their second semester, Juniors who rank in the top 15% of their class (by weighted GPA)  will be sent correspondence and invited to apply for membership to the Henry Clay Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Qualifying students will receive a letter of invitation along with an application that will need to be completed and returned to the advisor in a timely manner (usually 2 weeks).  Deadline for applying will be clearly marked on the invitation.  To be considered for induction, candidates must hold at least 2 leadership positions and have 2 community service references from their years in high school.  ALL inductees must also be of good character and that is assessed through teacher evaluation and school disciplinary data collected over an applicant’s high school career.  If they do not qualify as a junior or wish not to apply at that time, he/she will receive another invitation to apply in fall of senior year.  The academic requirement for Fall selection will include all seniors in the top 20% using a weighted scale.  Applicants will be notified of acceptance or denial.
